Introduction
This guide illustrates the recompression procedure (transcodification)
of a DVD to reduce the size to 4.350 MegaBytes. Through this
procedure, it will be possible to copy a DVD on a virgin support of 4.7 GigaBytes.
To carry out this procedure you must first rip and copy the DVD onto
the hard disk by means of another software: see the appropriate guide
Ripping and copying a DVD on the hard
disk with DVD Backup. Once you have copied the "VIDEO_TS" folder of
the DVD
onto the hard disk, you will select it and process it with DVD
Remaster, then you will go on with the burning by means of any compatible
software.
These software can be downloaded from the
Software
MAC page, where you can also find useful information
about the installation of the software itself. Remember that
the most recent and updated version of this software may only be
downloaded from their official site.
Details for use are as follows:
Double click on DVDRemaster file to open the program,
then click on "Choose..." button as illustrated in
the
picture on the side.
------------------------------------------------
In the dialogue window, select the
"VIDEO_TS" folder that you obtained with the DVD
Backup software, then click on "Choose" button.
------------------------------------------------
Now set up the options of the program as following:
Recompression Module:
M2VDownsizerDEMO
Quality: Normal
Select Recompress
menus box
Target size: 4.350
MB
Then click on "Start" button.
------------------------------------------------
Now select the destination folder of the new
"VIDEO_TS" folder and click on "Remaster" button.
N.B.: if the DVD was not decrypted before, the program will
show you this error message:

We insist on the fact that the "VIDEO_TS" folder of the DVD had to be decrypted before and copied on
the hard disk with DVD Backup.
------------------------------------------------
The program will analyze the several
titles of the DVD as you can see in the picture on the right.
Then the recompression procedure will
start. You may see the remaining time on the right.
You can abort the procedure by clicking on "Abort"
button at any moment .
Once the procedure is finished, you will obtain your
"VIDEO_TS" folder recompressed in the necessary dimension to be
burned on
a virgin DVD-R of 4.7 GigaBytes. You may execute this
procedure by means of any burning software compatible with DVD
format.
For this subject see
guide for DVD burning.
