You need some specific software and expedients to view compressed .avi or .mov file in MPEG 4 format on MAC OS X.

To reproduce codified .mov file with DIVA and/or with 3ivx codec it is first necessary that this codec be set up in the system.
A .mov file can be reproduced with Quick Time player that you may find in all MAC systems.

.avi files (compressed or not in MPEG 4 format with DivX / XviD / ffmpeg codec) must be reproduced with  a special player: MPlayer OS X and VLC are the best known and functional. The latter is recommended by DivX DooR.
